Jorge Manuel do Carmo Pereira de Almeida was born in 1958 in Lisbon and attended the Ar.Co Painting Course.
“Architectural, graphic, and symbolic, can be used to describe the artist’s pictorial imagination” – this is how his
most recent works were defined by “Arte Ibérica” magazine.
In 2000 he was awarded the Honourable Mention at the I Domingos Sequeira Painting Biennial.
He is the author of several Urban Installations, namely for the Lisbon Municipal Council, situated in the Bairro Alto,
for the Braga Municipal Council and for the EPAL Water Museum.
Several of his Prints have been published by the Centro Português de Serigrafia, he has illustrated several Books
and developed Posters for the GLRP and the Centro Cultural de Belém, having also established regular
collaboration with several national and international Museums.
Exhibiting since 1985, he has participated in dozens of Exhibitions and Conferences both in Portugal and abroad.
Present in the collections of several Foundations and Museums, he is mentioned in the“50 Anos de Pintura em
Portugal”, published in 2000 and “Pintura em Portugal 2001”, published in 2002, both works published by Univer-
sitária Editora.
In 2004, Produtora Mandala published a DVD with his most recent work.
Currently he is Consultant for the EUROPEAN MUSEUM FORUM (Portugal) and Consultant for International
Projects for APOREM, an association of 17 Portuguese Museums.

• 1982/83 - Advisor to the Minister of State Assistant to the Prime Minister – where he was responsible for the
coordination of the Cabinets of Dr. Francisco Pinto Balsemão and Dr. Basílio Horta.

production company after the 25th April 1974, which for six months was broadcast on Saturdays by RTP1 in

Lanalgo and Evicar group.
• 1990/92 - Shareholder and Marketing Director of the magazines “Tomorrow” (focusing on the main personalities

Marketing and Administrative Management Departments.

He was also responsible for its financial feasibility, for the creation of the invaluable Historical Archive and for the

• 1994/96 - General Manager of TV News (Spain) – where he was responsible for the creation of the Iberian TV
News Group, with representative offices in Lisbon and Madrid. This company has also launched the first private
service of integrated support for entrepreneurs form both countries regarding their investments in the Iberian
Peninsula and established major agreements with Portuguese and
Spanish banks and with the Portuguese and Spanish branches of Dun & Brandstreet.
• 1996 - Founder and Editor of the bilingual business magazine “Tagus”, especially oriented to Iberian investors.
• 1996/98 - General Manager of ADA Portuguesa – a Spanish company, leader in the travel assistance sector
in Spain, later expanded to Portugal, where he was responsible for the procurement of Portuguese clients and
for the launching of the Call Center service in both countries.
• 1992/2004 - President of Lauder Imobiliária – a company operating on the business rentals, restaurants and
beverages sectors.
On a more occasional basis, Jorge Pereira de Almeida was also:
• Founder and General Manager of Poliserviços – a pioneering company in Portugal that established the first
database for the real estate market, promoting the convergence of offer and demand in the real estate sale and
rental sectors.
• CEO of Comoin Investimentos Imobiliários – a company that negotiated with the Lisbon City Council a major
building contract of a private condominium at Rua do Borja in Lisbon.
• Marketing Consultant at Unisys, having launched for the first time in the IT sector the concept of customer
loyalty through the creation of a personal service card.
• Vice-President of ESL European Strategy and Lobby Network, pioneering company in Portugal in the corporate
lobbying sector.
• Author and Director of the TV documentary commemorating the 30th anniversary of NATO, ordered by NATO
and broadcast by RTP1 and TVE.
• Advisor at Tera Hidrocarburos, a company operating on the oil sector in Spain.
• Consultant at Pomasa, the leading Spanish company in corporate tax advisory, having conducted the
necessary studies and reports for its introduction in Portugal.
• General Manager of 2ii Informática e Informação, a market research company that cooperated with the
Lisbon City Council within the scope of Lisbon Culture Capital for 1994.
• Shareholder and General Manager of the Príncipe Real Office Centre, a group of ten offices for corporations
on a full service basis.
